The ISME Travel Awards for Young Scientists   
 
ISME has funds available for young scientists to assist in 
meeting their travel expenses to attend ISME13. Maximum
grant is:

                •  North America € 200 (US $ 288)
                •  South America € 500 (US $ 720)
                •  Rest of the World € 650 (US $ 935)

 
Eligibility: the ISME travel awards are open to all ISME members
who are currently enrolled as a research higher degree student or a
member who is no more than 2 years past completion of their PhD. 
The applicant must also be the first and presenting author of an
abstract submitted to the symposium.
 
Applications for “The ISME Travel Awards” should include:

         •  Applicants name and full contact details, full mailing
            address, office hours, phone number, email address and
            fax number
         •  Copy of submitted abstract and nominated topic
         •  Proof of student status or graduation date (copy of  
            student identification card or certification of graduation). 
            Not required for student members of the society.
         •  Supportive statement from current supervisor. 
         •  Personal statement on why you believe the Committee
            should select you for an award.

 

All applications should be in a pdf file format with the filename of
“ApplicantSurname_TravelApp.pdf” and emailed to
 
Applications Close: 2 April 2010. Outcomes of the grant will
be sent as soon as possible. The travel grants will be distributed
during the Symposium in Seattle.
 

Please note: due to the huge amount of travel award applications it will not be possible to notify you on the outcome of the grant by 23 April. We strive to inform you in week 20, from 17 May to 21 May. We hope for your understanding.
