The ISME Early Career Scientist Reviewer Pool
We are pleased to announce that the ISME Society journals and the ISME Early Career Scientist Committee (ECSC) are launching the ISME ECS Reviewer Pool.
ISME recognizes the growing need to include ECS contributions in evaluating microbial ecology manuscripts, therefore we are launching an initiative to formalize the participation of ECS experts in the peer review process of our society journals. Alongside our editorial board members and ad hoc reviewers, members of the ECS Reviewer Pool will have the opportunity to serve as “ECS reviewers” for manuscripts submitted to The ISME Journal and ISME Communications. Upon assignment to a manuscript, ECS experts will receive peer review guidelines and can seek feedback from the editorial team before, during, and after the evaluation process.
The ECSC initiative will be a valuable career development opportunity for ECS Reviewer Pool members and enhance the quality of microbial ecology publications published in our journals.
The eligibility requirements for the ISME ECS Reviewer Pool are a maximum of 8 years post-PhD experience (excluding career breaks) and demonstrated experience in the field of microbial ecology.
You may submit your application via this link and successful applicants will be added to the ECS Reviewer Pool in our reviewer database.
