Ken Nealson, University of Southern California, USA, was the recipient of the prestigious Jim Tiedje Award. The Tiedje Award Ceremony took place on Thursday 18 August, with Professor Nealson also delivering his presentation, Life at ultra-high pH: Messages from the Earth’s Microbiome.

Our Early Career Award Winner, Kelly Wrighton, Colorado State University, USA, closes the conference with her Keynote Presentation Amines to an end. In this session, we also honour our (Poster) Award Winners and look ahead to ISME19.
