The Working Group (WG) Microbial Biogeochemistry (MicGeo) investigates the impact of microbiomes on biogeochemical processes of terrestrial and agricultural ecosystems, and focusses on its dynamics regarding trace gas fluxes and interactions with crops. The WG collaborates with Humboldt University of Berlin and further research institutions in Berlin and Potsdam.
We offer a full time position (100%) initially limited for 24 months at our location in Müncheberg as an Bioinformatician & Application Specialist in Microbiome Analysis (M/W/D)
The announced position is affiliated with the WG MicGeotosupporting research projects on plant and soil microbiomes in agricultural ecosystems. It will be a central task to support research projects by implementing, maintaining and further developing the application infrastructure needed to conduct state-of the-art gene marker analysis, genome assembly and annotation, and metagenome and –transcriptome based approaches.The successful applicant will have access to the latest cluster and virtual machine infrastructure of ZALF.
