Graduate student scholarships in environmental microbiology/biotechnology at Kyung Hee University in Korea

 

The PhD (or combined MS-PhD course) student will get involved in an interdisciplinary research project that examines i) microbial/viral diversity and function in the urban water cycle and ii) fate and abatement of micropollutants in environmental bioprocesses (e.g., water/wastewater/waste treatment), using computational and experimental approaches. Candidates are desired to have i) good knowledge with environmental engineering/biotechnology/microbiology, ii) laboratory skills (e.g., molecular microbiological techniques), or iii) programming skills (e.g., writing scripts in Perl or Python) and proficiency in R, Matlab, and Unix/Linux. Good communication (written and oral) skills in English would be highly desirable. An official English test score (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.) is mandatory for graduate program admission in KHU.

The graduate student scholarships, inclusive of full tuition fees and competitive stipends will be offered under the guideline of KHU.
