The Campbell and Suseela labs at Clemson University are looking for two PhD students to work on the microbial ecology (community structure of Bacteria, Archaea and fungi) and the effects of climate change factors (drought) and nutrient limitations on rhizosphere associations with agriculturally important crop species.  The students will set up experiments, assay chemical metabolites, perform bioinformatics, 16S rRNA sequencing, metagenome analyses and modeling to characterize these processes and the interactions between the microbes, environmental factors and the plants. Please email: bcampb7@clemson.edu for more information. The deadline for applying for the Microbiology program is December 10, 2021.  Please see our website for more details on how to apply.
