The Department of Chemistry and Environmental Science at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) is searching for qualified applications for a postdoctoral research associate position in the areas of environmental microbiology and biotechnology. Ideal applicants should possess a solid academic background and proficient experience in (1) biodegradation and biotransformation of legacy and emerging pollutants, such as 1,4-dioxane and PFAS, (2) microbial ecology using state-of-the-art high-throughput sequencing and bioinformatics, and/or (3) design and operation of bench-scale bioreactors and other biological treatment systems. Applicants with PhD degrees in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, and other relevant disciplines will be preferred. Excellent English communication and writing skills are highly desirable.

The successful candidate is expected to start no later than September 2022 and will receive competitive monthly wages and benefits. The initial contract is one-year and renewable depending on performance and availability of funding.
