General: In this position you will have the opportunity to carry out high level research and to specialise in a particular field. You will hold your own lectures, tutor students and participate in administration. During the first year of employment it is possible to conclude a 'qualification agreement' which is the core part of a University career position (tenure track model). If the terms of the qualification agreement are fullfilled it will lead to a continuous career at the University, resulting in the position of an Associate Professor and permanent employment.
Main tasks: Independent research in bioinformatic analysis of microbiomes and biological interactions in different habitats, including development of digital tools; acquisition of third-party funds; scientific publishing; high-quality teaching in the field of bioinformatics; supervision and co-supervision of theses; participation in academic self-government.
Required qualification:  PhD in (bio-)informatics, microbiology, biology or a related subject; minimum 2 years of PostDoc experience;  publications in international journals; experience in the acquisition of third-party funds; team and communication skills; command of the German language is expected within a reasonable time.
